In some of our other posts we highlight some surprising photography destinations in China and some of the National Parks and reserves that can be found there. The sheer size of the country lends to its many diverse and beautiful landscapes that can be found. Among some of Thierry’s favorite sites include the rice terraces of Yunnan, the mudflats of Fujian, the unique peaks of Zhangjiajie in Hunan and rivers and hills of Guangxi.
Norway is one of the northernmost countries in Europe with parts extending into the Arctic Circle. It has beautiful landscapes that extend through all corners of the country. Some of the most iconic and well known natural features are the fjords of the west coast. The series of deep valleys and weaving waterways have drawn photographers from around the world to capture their every angle.
Heading to the north, the frozen, arctic landscapes and regular appearance of the northern lights draw photographers and tourists alike for the other worldly experience.
A quick hop from Norway lies the island nation of Iceland. It has a more mild climate than found in other Northern countries that lends to unspoilt landscapes and an abundance of waterfalls throughout the country. From black sand beaches to the blue ice of the glaciers, one benefit of the country is that within a short distance a variety of landscapes and climates can be experienced.
Chile is one of the longest countries in the world. From the arid deserts of the north to the glaciers of Patagonia in the South, there are a diverse range of landscapes and natural features that draw tourists and photographers from around the world. With sites like the other worldly Atacama Deserts to the endless stretches of coastline to the peaks of Torres del Paine, the range of landscapes is astonishing and sure to keep your inner photographer inspired.
The United States is a huge country with countless natural destinations. The American Southwest stands out in particular as a popular photographer’s destination for the abstractness of the natural forms that visitors can find in the region. Within a few hours drive, photographers can access the natural beauty of Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Sedona and Zion National Park. Each one offers a unique experience and natural features for photographers and tourists alike.
